Frequently Asked Dental Questions
- Do you see patients of all ages?
Yes! Torrance Dentistry is open to whole families, including children, adults, grandparents, and everyone in-between. Our wide variety of available services has something for everyone, whether you’re in need of a routine check-up that refreshes your smile or more advanced restorative work for correcting worn/damaged teeth. To learn more about our 5-Star dental office please see our new patient web page for more information, and to download forms before your first visit.
- How often should I visit the dentist?
If a patient has generally good oral health, Dr. Yabuno recommends that they visit our Torrance, CA dental office for a thorough oral exam and cleaning every six months, or twice each year. However, certain circumstances (such as the presence of periodontal disease) may increase this frequency. Above all else, our goal is to help you maintain a healthy, strong smile with professional maintenance and support.
- Why are dental implants the right choice for replacing my missing teeth?
Dental implants are highly successful for many reasons. Their structure is virtually identical to that of a missing tooth, which means that they both look and feel completely natural while preserving your oral health in the process. They’re also durable, functional, and built to last – in fact, many thrive for the rest of the patient’s life.
- I can’t make it to a dental appointment during regular business hours. Do you offer extended appointment times?
We understand how difficult it can be to schedule needed visits to the dentist when your daily routine is just too demanding. That’s why our dental office is open on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm! These times are perfect for busy professionals, big families, and other patients who need a little extra convenience.
- Dental care makes me nervous. Can your team help me relax?
Yes.Dr. Yabuno offers comfortable electronic anesthetic delivery and effective sedation dentistry techniques like nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) and oral conscious sedation. We want to keep patients calm, comfortable, and as pain-free as possible throughout their treatment with us.
- Will I have to see a separate specialist to have my dental implants placed?
Not at all! Our team at Torrance Dentistry includes Dr. Calvin Dang and Dr. Violetta Kenigsberg, two periodontal specialists who have the advanced training and experience to surgically place implants. We’re proud to be able to offer every step of this important and transformative procedure here in one convenient location for the benefit of patients in need.
- Do you accept my insurance?
Our team members will file the necessary paperwork for your PPO insurance plan, maximizing the available benefits that you’re entitled to. For patients without insurance, convenient financing plans are also available through Care Credit! Visit our New Patients page to learn more about your options.
